Use multiple views
Multi-view image to 3D uses different views of one object to guide a single model. Choose this when a side profile or rear detail is important and you have matching images to show it.
Select Tripo or Meshy and switch to multiple-image input. For Tripo, add the front view first, then fill the matching left, back, or right slots for the views you have.
Prepare a Reference That Shows the Shape
Choose images for the information they provide about the object. Clear outlines, visible parts, and consistent views are more useful than a busy presentation.
Photos: show the complete object
Keep the subject inside the frame and make its outline easy to follow. Choose a view with little overlap between important parts. A simple background and even lighting help separate the shape from shadows and surrounding objects.
Sketches: make the volume readable
For sketch-to-3D generation, show how the main parts connect and which surfaces face different directions. Use perspective and shading to explain depth, especially around openings and overlapping parts.
Multiple images: keep the design consistent
Use photos of the same object or drawings of the same design. Match its proportions, colors, and small features across the set. Choose another angle to reveal a hidden part, rather than uploading near-duplicates of the front.
Start from Text When You Have No Image
Use text-to-3D generation to explore an object before making reference artwork. Switch to text input with Tripo, Meshy, or Hunyuan and describe the asset you want.
- Define the object and its shape
- Name one subject and describe its main proportions or parts. Focus on the features that distinguish it, such as a broad base, curved handle, or short limbs.
- Add a visual direction
- For textured output, describe the materials, colors, and style that belong together. Keep appearance details connected to the object rather than adding an unrelated scene.
If you can picture the silhouette but cannot describe it clearly, develop a reference image first. You can then use that image in the image-to-3D workflow.

Choose settings for what you plan to do with the model. A shape study, a textured object, and a lighter scene asset need different treatment.

Can I turn a JPG or PNG into a 3D model?
Yes. Upload a JPG or PNG showing the complete object in image-to-3D mode. The generator creates a mesh you can rotate and download. Check the upload control for your selected model’s file-size limit.
Do multiple views need to show the same object?
Yes. Use complementary views of one object or one consistent design. Mixing different versions of a character or product gives the generator conflicting information. For Tripo, place the front image in the front slot and use the corresponding slots for other angles.
Can I add a text prompt to an uploaded image?
With Tripo here, image-to-3D generation uses the uploaded image or views to guide the geometry. A text description is a separate input mode, not an extra shape instruction for an uploaded photo. Meshy has dedicated texture guidance where available; it controls appearance rather than serving as a general mesh-editing prompt.
Why does the generated model look different from another angle?
A picture only shows the visible surfaces. The generator has to infer hidden areas, which can differ from the object you intended. If a particular side matters, provide a matching view in a supported multi-image mode. For a missing part caused by cropping or overlap, start with a reference that shows it clearly.
Can I convert the downloaded GLB to STL?
Yes. Import the downloaded GLB into compatible 3D software such as Blender and export an STL for print preparation. Check the scale, closed surfaces, and wall thickness first. STL stores geometry rather than the textures and materials in a GLB.
